Welcome from Convener

 On behalf of the Conference Organising Committee, I welcome you to Wellington as you take part in ‘Rising Tides: Nurturing our Gifted Culture’.

We are excited about the wonderful group of speakers we have for you at this conference.  They are people who are passionate about our gifted learners and who will present a variety of workshops designed to make us celebrate our progress but most importantly to think about where we should be heading in the future as we aim to nurture these very special children.

We hope that you will leave on Saturday equipped with new learning and ideas, having made friendships both professional and social and with renewed vigour to work together for the benefit of gifted children in New Zealand.

We encourage you above all to discuss, communicate, and network with each other. Allow yourself to be carried along on a rising tide of enthusiasm and let us all try to sail onward together as one community that has been strengthened by the three days of this national conference.
